Introducing...

I havent been the best keeping up with this Blog the end of the pregnancy.  But I would like to Introduce...

Blake Gilpin Ring Born Sept 3rd at 8:55pm.  He weighed 9lbs 6oz and was 21inches long.

My water broke sunday evening after having spent all day saturday in the hospital because we thought my water had broken.  They tested 3 times on saturday and even though i was leakin a ton it was all negative.  We were sent home.  I was having contractions about 10 mins apart.  We did some walking on sunday and when I woke up from a nap there was a big gush.  Once at the hospital they gave me some time to start labor on my own with no luck.  After some pitocin and no contractions later we tried a pill to get things going.  It did more than the pitocin and I spent some time in the jacuzzi tub which was wonderful!  However, I still wasnt in active labor.  I was on the clock due to the risk of infection.  I was checked around 4pm and it was discovered that i had another bag of forewaters.  They broke that and WHOA labor kicked in.  All I have to say is Pitocin contractions SUCK!  I had zero time between contractions. My husband however was an amazing labor coach.  Without him I am sure i would have been a screamin maniac, but he just talked me through ever contraction and reminding me to breath.   I got an epidural and all I have to say is they are amazing.  It was a good thing I go one too because even though I was in active labor I still did not progress.  The decision was made to do a c-section.  The Doctor's exact words were, "This is a precious infertility baby and we do not want a sick baby.."  When the decison was made I was so relieved and happy that I was about to meet my son!! When they took him out it was discovered that he was at a weird angle and that along with his size he would have never come out on his own.  Husband stayed wiht baby and it was less than an hour and he was in my arms and feeding.

Everything went very smoothly and recovery has been a little rough and its not like with a newborn I can just lounge around either. Breastfeeding is going well. I wont lie being a new mom is overwhelming at times but i know it gets easier and its so so worth it!

I look forward to watching him grow!  I just can't believe he is here!

Blessings...the unexpected ones.

Well it has been about 4 weeks since my last post.  A Lot has happened. Things are crazy and calm all at the same time.

My husband lost his Job.  Before you GASP and say 'oh no!" We were planning on him quiting anyways to stay home with Blake.  Its just sooner than we had wanted.  At first I was shook up about it because we have to completly replan some financial things and health insurance but it only took a couple days for me to realize that it was actully a blessing in disguise. Thats where the title of this blog post comes in.  The day he lost his job I found out that I am having some signs of hypertension.or high blood pressure during my pregnancy.  I now I have see the doctor once a week and I'm on meds.  Brian being off work as allowed him take over the house duties and leave me work and just being able to relax when I am home.  I truely believe it had made a huge differance.  It was like all of a sudden we could both feel our stress levels fall. We are enjoying all the extra time together before baby comes.  God really does know what he is doing sometimes.

Okay some more about whats going on with baby.  One day I got a horrid headache and I took my blood pressure with my mom's at home monitor and it was really high.  So I went in to the OB.  They had me do labs and things came back on what I would describe the high end of normal. So being cautious and proactive I was put on a med and now I go in weekly.  I'm also having some sugar issues even though I passed the glucose test so This week I am pricking my darn finger 4 times a day to monitor those.  Needless to say its all geting old..hoping the next weeks fly by because to be honest I am so ready to have my body back and my love in my arms.

I am getting so excited about baby shower which is 2 weeks away! I just can't wait to clebrate baby blake with my family and friends.  Then the following weekend I believe my dad and my step mom melissa are coming up to see us.  All things to look forward and hopefully make the time go faster.

Well I will leave you with some belly pictures:)  4th of july..

We have hit the 3rd Trimester!

Only 12 weeks to go until little one's due date!  That means only 9 weeks until he is full term...holy cow!

I wont lie, I feel ready.  yes, we may not have all the stuff we need and I may not have read all the books or finished the scrapbook or this or that but I figure you dont have a clue until baby actully comes so I'm just ready to start learning about this little boy.

28 weeks pictured above!

I'm starting to get un comfortable, especially at night when i'm trying to sleep.  But I wouldn't change it for the world.

We have pretty much finished His nursery.  I'm pretty proud of his Cat in the Hat Nursery.  Its a theme I had loved before I was even pregnant and for it to come to life is so amazing.  Sometimes I jus go in there and sit and read, etc.  Going in there makes it feel real.  Well that and feeling him kick:)

I've also been on the look out for cheap baby clothes. All the stores right now have summer baby clothes and he is going to need more fall/ winter things.  So I have found some things on clearance.  At first I was just so excited I would pay full price for all these cute things but then I think reality struck. Baby clothes are kinda ridiculaous...haha.  Yesterday though I think I struck gold. A friend tipped me off to a good garage sale. I walked away with this:
I basically doubled his current amount of clothes for less than 1/4 the price.  Pretty awesome.  I am hoping to hit some more this summer.

Things coming up are:
I have my 1 hour gluclose test on thursday. hoping to pass but if I do have Gestational diabetes then so be it, I will just deal with it.

We start our prepared child birth classes on wednesday!! I'm excited for it.!

July 28th is my baby shower..so excited!!

august 8th is our natural child birth class..

I think the weekend of august 4th my dad and family will be come visiting.

I'll be back to work full time around august 6th and then Its just work until baby boy comes!

Thats about it!  I know they say I should enjoy this time, and I am, but at the same time I am just so excited for him to get here!

Our most recent photo shoot

Its hard to believe that this coming saturday I will be 24 weeks pregnant.  When I first found out I would look at other women who were this far along and just pray deep in my soul that I would make it to this point.  Actully I was praying everyday to make it through the first trimester and now here we are only about 3-4 weeks (depending on who you ask) away from the third trimester.  Its just so crazy and I know its going to fly by because summer ALWAYS goes fast.

In baby news we had a check up and ultrasound on the 11th.  The Doctor had an emergency C-section and thus couldnt be there for our appointment to do the "official" anatomy scan but his PA did a fabulous job and we'll catch the doctor at our next appointment June 6th.  The PA did look at little boy's brain and Heart and said everything was perfect.  We also got an awesome picture or our little one

after this appointment I just kept looking at this picture is disbelief that hubby and I are finally getting our miracle.

That same night was my graduation dinner.  It was lots of fun and great to spend time with family.  I made sure to take a picture!

23 weeks

Well thats all for now.  16 weeks to go!

Half way and a little scare.

We are officially half way through!  Its crazy to think that tomorrow will mark 21 weeks down with only 19 weeks to go.  CRAZY!!!!

So of course I have a 20 week picture to share!

The belly is in full swing! haha.  well actully because I'm what people like to call fluffy its still not obvious when I am wearing certain clothes.  Basically Mr.Blake has just pushed all of mommy's fat up..haha!

Last week we had a little scare. I had been feeling little man move consistently and then all of a sudden I wasnt feeling anything. I didnt panic at first cause I read thats normal this early.  But after 2 days I was freakin out. Luckily my OB is amazing and saw us right away. Baby boy had moved up higher and my placenta was acting like a cushion to his movement.  He was perfectly fine! just being naughty!! hehe.  He moves alot more these days.  Its so awesome to feel him.  I *think I am starting to feel some definded kicks now instead of just general moving around...so awesome!!

I'll leave you with a picture from our emergency ultrasound.  He has his hand up to his face and looks like he is sucking his thumb.

Almost half way

We hit 19 weeks tomorrow which is only 1 week away from the half way point and thats if he goes until 40 weeks.

I look more and more pregnant everyday and this morning the husband said you can deff tell now. Thanks babe! I think because I was fluffy pre pregnancy its hard to tell and I can tell people are thinking, "Is she pregnant or fat??" well trust me people I am still 40lbs lighter than what I was in feb 2011 when I was at my heaviest. This belly is baby.

The weight gain is something I am struggling with. I know I have put too much back on. Its hard though. With my PCOS to lose and maintain I have to be following a very strict low carb diet. Well I have no desire to eat like that pregnant. I do avoid all surgary drinks and I am really trying to avoid the sweets but carbs in general are my downfall. I just keep telling myself I will deff get back on track after he comes. I am planning on seeing a nutritionsit while still pregnant to talk about after. I want to make sure I eat healthy enough for breatfeeding but I also need to eat healthy for me too. So we shall see!

We had an appointment a few days ago at 18weeks 3 days. he was measuring closer to 19 weeks, which is fine by me! both my m0m and I have a gut feeling that he will be a big baby..oh lord!

12 weeks!

We are 12 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. The ultrasound above was done at 10 weeks 1 day. We are measuring 2 days ahead which is fun because that puts our due date on hubby's birthday. I know that this early however, measurments vary.

Every day I feel more and more connected to this little person growing inside of me. As we get closer to the end of the first trimester I have more and more hope that this is actully happening.

I also feel like god is doing some amazing things in my life right now. He knew when the best time for this to happen was and he made it happen. I graduated, I started a new job, and we were approved for our home. Its really amazing. 2 days from now will mark 2 months since I found out I was pregnant. It has gone so fast already!

We are starting to buy a few things. Got a crib the other day. I already got some clothes. Our next appointment is on the 12th and we might be able to find out if we are having a boy or a Girl.

I am so excited!

6 more days!

Our first appointment is less than a week away! I am so excited/nervous/scared. I just want everything to be fine and healthly. Hubs is coming with and possibly my mother too. I *think* i'll be around six weeks by then, but i'm not sure.

So far my boobs just hurt and I'm wearing a sports bra pretty much all the time. I'm hungry all the time too, which scares me because after losing 75bs i really dont want to gain it all back. However, i lost everything i ate today so who knows. yeah my first bout of the sickies hit today. I guess lil' brussel sprout hates the smell of trukey burgers being cooked.

I started my grad class today. I am sure the preggo hormones are raging because honestly compared to most of my undergrad this class will be a cake walk... but i got a little overwhelmed. It might have just been the act of being in class..AGAIN. I was enjoying the break from school.

well that is all!

Wait..wait...wait

Well we are just going crazy waiting for our first appointment. t-minus 12 days. I am so nervous! i just pray pray pray that everything is okay with our little Brussle Sprout!

I can't freakin believe it!

I am PREGNANT! after 2 years of infertility I have kicked PCOS's butt!

Is very early assuming my last period was indeed a real period. That would put me around 4 weeks. My first appointment is in 13 days! I am going nutso!

I wont lie, I've alread purchased a few things. just come cute clothes. After 2 years of looking at everything baby it was great to be able to buy something :)

So how did i kick PCOS's butt? well first off I lost 75lbs by following a very strict low carb diet. I also had ovarian drilling done august 3rd. My cycles have been regualr ever since. So thanks to the use of ovulation tests we're pregnant! I just hope everything is okay and when we go to the appointment we have good news.

YAY!
